(7/31/04) Making Breakfast

Henry mixes a special granola...while we thought he was playing with his own cooking toys, he actually raided the pantry and made his own breakfast--granola, walnuts, Michigan cherries, sugar, and a dash of salt.

(7/30/04) At the train station to watch the trains come and go...Henry likes seeing the train arrive, horns blaring and wheels churning, but seems disappointed that we're not getting ON the train.

(7/29/04) It's (Going To Be) A Girl!

We celebrate after finding out that we're going to have a girl. Maxine can start making the dresses now!

(7/27/04) The ultrasound looks great. We see a little person waving "hello". It's too soon to know if it's a boy or a girl.

(07/24/04) Henry loves his new swing, designed and built by Uncle Chuck Arnsbarger.

(07/22/04) Henry loves to watch Kitty eat. He often feeds both pets, but when he feeds Kitty he likes to lie down on the floor and watch her. I think it's the only time she'll let him get close.

(07/19/04) Hen and Jen..."Jenry".

(7/16/04) Henry is a great helper to both of us, and he is eager to give his "ma-ma" a hand in the rose garden.

(7/14/04) First Day of School.
Henry walks right to the easel, takes a brush, and begins work. He feels at home right away at the Joyful Noise pre-preschool. He tells Jill later that this was a painting about "fishing".

(7/13/04) Jill Cracks the (Geo) Code

Jill discovers the clue in our geo-caching adventure. We had to solve a riddle that created a phone number. The clue was hidden in a tiny magnetic box hidden under the phone with the secret number. Very James Bond'ish...part of a new hobby I'm trying called GeoCaching. I couldn't solve the puzzle on my own earlier in the day, so Jill and Henry came with me in the evening and Jill figured it out.

(7/12/04) Being silly at the Biltmore. Jill had dinner with a friend, so I took Henry to the Biltmore for dinner on the bar patio. I had a martini and a burger. Afterward we ran around on the grass and acted silly. We found a giant palm tree with a grassy knob at the bottom--Henry ran up and down at least 500 times!

(7/11/04) Keeping Hen busy on a Sunday afternoon...Jill fills the carwash bucket for Henry and he has a great time meticulously washing his entire fleet of vehicles, starting with his favorite pushcar.

(7/10/04)

Happily playing.
(7/10/04)

The attack!

(7/10/04)

The defense!

Henry and Trip Gorman have a friendly sandbox tug-of-war with Henry's favorite "digger".

(07/09/04)

Henry slumbers through the wee hours.

(07/08/04) Henry hangs out with an old friend, Sid, as Sid's family prepares to say goodbye and move to Florida. We met Sid's parents, Dave and Surya, in Henry's birthing class and have been great friends ever since.

(07/04/04) A quick shot of the kid's table at our fourth of July cookout. It was actually a very fun party, but I was having a little too much fun to take any more photos...
